The exchange plan sounds a lot more interesting than the ESS route. I don’t get the impression that that is going to be a whole load of fun..

Jen: Interesting. What I’ve heard about it hasn’t been OVERLY excellent. One thing I forgot to mention is that there’s a thing designed to bridge the gap between foreigners and japanese by running exchange sessions. I think I’m going to do that instead.

I joined the ESS at my university, and I hardly ever spoke in English! I think the members seemed to think that by going, their English would magically improve, even if they didn’t really use English.
If the ESS is like that at Sophia too, then I think that you should definitely consider joining!
