Seems spotify has updated its japanese music :D
A quick search now and I get this:
l’arc~en~ciel: 2 albums
Dir en Grey: 3 albums + singles
girugamesh: 3 albums
An Cafe: 2 albums
Utada hikaru: 1 album =/
Mucc: 6 albums
Kagerou: 2 albums
Ayabie: 4 albums + singles

Not that I actually know all of the above mentioned artists, just that I can get linked by the “related artists”-feature. My guess, they realize a lot of people listen to asian music :P I for one do :P

there isn’t too few people who listen to japanese/korean music. there’s A LOT if you get into the music, you will find so many people all over the world who likes it.
and if it’s beacause of legal stuff that spotify can’t put up it up, they should fix it somehow.

could be great to have more japanese stuff, i was also searching for this in this program (it’s a great program) and well nothing

of course labels always complain about people downloading but well spotify could help them get more money for sure…they should all put their catalogs available… by the way the paid version of spotify is really cool also because you can get your music even when you are offline on the go…with your iphone and no internet

Right guys, back again. I found a site that might well be the answer to our prayers – Grooveshark. It’s a web-based alternative to Spotify, but here’s the kicker… they’ve got Japanese music. Oodles of it. So far I’ve found Yellow Magic Orchestra, Gackt, Morning Musume, Aya Matsuura, X Japan…. LOADS. I can’t believe it. Check it out NOW!!!

You can now upload music and share it by going to spotify playlists. You can type that into Google. Not sure if there are any of those copyright infringement.

No big loss, Ive lived in Japan for 4 years and have not heard one band I would remotely be interested in.

Im hoping I will hear at least an average band one day.

Dave: I agree. Spotify is actually not available in Japan yet so I guess they need to do a lot of legal work to get the service over there, but I imagine if they succeed there, a lot more music will become available.

Yeah i love the concept of spotify, one of my friends introduced me, and i thought ill download that see what its like, however im a known listener to much japanese music and to my disppear everything i tried was just “no results” i was like..huh? its how i ended up here cause you all obviously have this same problem i do.
So yeah i would also like to say it is a shame there isnt much japanese music on, and would be so much greater with some.
