1. Hey! Say! Jump! Probably the biggest boy band in Japan these days, they were made by the same team behind loads of successful pop bands. The twist is they are all under 20 (so they were all born in the Heisei era, which lead to ‘Hey Say’) and they all look like girls.
2. It’s electronic music band Boom Boom Satellites. I hear they’re pretty big, although I’ve not heard any of their music. They do however have a song called ‘Shut up and explode’ which is one of the finest song names ever.
3. NICO touches the walls. They’re a JRock band from 2004. They had a big hit this year, and you anime dorks will recognize them as they’re on Naruto.
4. Porno Graffiti are a very famous rock band. Please note the pink things in the picture are meant to be spray paint cans. I blame my lack of a mouse!!
5. Seagull Screaming Kiss Her Kiss Her, of course! Yes it’s the greatest band name of all time. They’re an indie girl band from Tokyo, and they’re not half bad!

Ack, I only got Porno Graffiti! I’d heard of HEY! SAY! JUMP!, but when I hear or see their name I think about the BP ads that had that song that said “Say hey!” so even when I saw the little dude jumping I thought of that instead!
I think the funniest Japanese music name I ever saw was “Nutty a hermit.” Well, that’s actually the album name, the band is called Baroque.

The Skull Fuck Revolvers is a personal favourite of mine as far as stupid band names go.

I’m in love with Hey!Say!Jump! they’re just about the coolest thing around ha ha. Especially when they wear there matching red leather. Ah the innocence of childhood….
