The Return To Japan : June 17th - September 25th
Posted by: Mike in Japan 2008, tags: TravelThat’s right! It’s a long return to Japan! With some generous help from my parents and relatives and a great deal of eating nothing but cup Ramen from myself, I’ve managed to scrape together enough money to fly over to Japa and not die from malnutrition! I discussed a few ideas for things I want to do this year, and I’m still hungry for more information and suggestions so please do drop a comment if you have any ideas. I’m going to be staying with the school I taught at in 2006-2007, and will be able to attend a few of their events, such as sports day and the graduation ceremony. I’m going to make my camera an even closer friend than last time, and blog even harder and more frequently. I promise.
So the countdown begins. I make it just 99 days until I fly off from London, so exactly 100 (or thereabouts) before I touch down in Tokyo!
I don’t really have much more interesting information so I’m going to leave this as a nice short post. Expect usual service to resume when I can be bothered soon.

Well you could always come visit me. I’ll be living in Hirakata from the end of august on, and we have an amazing theme park, hirakata park, so could do that. Also right in the middle of Osaka, Nara and Kyoto so conveniently situated

That’s a long holiday!
I can’t be bothered to count the number of days between the two, but I can only assume you are going to do your best to maximize your 90 day tourist visa.
Get ready to be fingerprinted.

Contamination: Oh yes, I’d forgotten. I’ll put my best fingerprints on! I’m really pushing it on the 90 day visa so I may have to visit Korea to get it renewed.
Not that that is a problem. I’ve always wanted to go to Korea.

Nice long time to be in Japan. You should try and act as suspicious as possible at the airport. See if you can’t get cavity searched as well as fingerprinted.
Ultimate Kancho.

Put them on? How could you take them off?
After all, they are YOUR fingerprints, I thought you’d be so attached to them you’d take them everywhere with you….
(okay, enough jokes)
Korea is good, get some real KimChi. Not the weak stuff they sell in Japan but the stuff that makes you sh!t fire, lava & brimstone.

Rory: As much as I’d love to, I don’t think the security need any MORE reason to obsess over fingerprinting…
Conamination: Mmm Kimchi. I love the stuff. But in the long run, it’s all about the Bibimba. Ohh yes. (I’m aware I can’t spell that)

Bimbasa I think.
But if you are talking about spicy rice with meat and stuff inside a heated rock bowl, then yeah, I love that too.
However in Japan I can hardly get anything spicy enough. When I go for an Indian curry, what’s labeled as Hot counts as a mild for me. I miss my Vindaloo living in this country.
Want to meet up?

Contamination: Sounds good to me :) I’m hoping to get a crew of bloggers out for a meal and a good ole’ blog sometime.

How long until touch down?
My weekend is Thursday-Friday, so if you want to meet up then, that’d be good. I can get to Ikebukuro, Hachioji or Tachikawa easily.

Contamination: Not long now! I crash in on June 17th and will definitly be up for some Izakaya shenanigans :)
